  • Media Composer UNC path support regression (Windows)

Hello, Since the "Source Browser" was introduced in 8.6 it's apparently no longer possible to link files using UNC path. If I try to copy/past a UNC path in the Source Browser's address bar I get an "unsupported path" error message. Is there another way? (mounting the UNC...

  • ProRes 4444 XQ

Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. This forum has saved my butt many times. Last night, in fact. I have a quick question I hope someone here can answer. • windows poping up out of reach for mouse

When I open a bin with lots of content it sometimes opens up so that its upper frame is out of reach for the mouse. • Please wait while Windows configures Avid Media Composer

All of a sudden this is pops up when I start up MC 5.0.3 on Vista: "Please wait while Windows Configures Avid Media Composer". I click cancel and MC continues to bootup. However, my one project--of course the one that I need to work on--crashes MC when I try to open it. I haven't touched...

  • Change Bin/Window Opening Behaviour

The way bins and various windows open in Media Composer is very inconvenient and much time is wasted repositioning them around the place - especially on a laptop. Media composer would be much nicer to use if bins opened in a neat, controlled way (as tabs or some other solution) rather than popping out...
