  • Re: MCv5 "Not Responding" on Windows 7

Hmmm... are you a RAM salesman...? No, actually I had already ordered 4GB more RAM but Dell sent them in 1GB RIMMs, so I am returning them for the 2GB RIMMs (since I only have two more slots free). Tom

Camilo: Appreciate the reply. I am running Quicktime Pro and downloaded the latest ATI drivers for my Radeon X1650 card, all of which worked for me on XP Pro. I had consdiered the possibility that my video card was having issues, but when LOADS of other blogs were complaining about the |not responding" freezes, I didn't think that would really

Randall: Thanks for the quick reply. Technically, it started as an Upgrade, as I purchased the Upgrade disk, but in going through the process, Windows told me it couldn't actually perform the UPGRADE and walked me through what seemed to be essentially a complete standard install. Not wiorried about drive capacity or (initially) importing time, but might break the video up into smaller portions - good point. Many thanks again! Tom

The guy who will be transferring the Beta SP tape (since I don't have access to a Beta deck) does not have Avid. He does have a Windows-based system and will be saving to an external hard drive on that, so I am wondering what file format (uncompressed QT, MPEG-2, etc.) HE should use to save the tranfserred footage so I can then take the drive and

  • Best Video Storage to Import to MC

Greetings folks. I have a Beta SP tape of video media I want to have transferred to easily import it into Avid Media Composer v4.0 later. I am wondering what is the best (highest quality) file format to store/transfer this video so I can later import into my system? I have been having issues with digitla artifxats when I originally store media as an
