• Re: Intel v AMD for MC

A high end workstation certified by Avid will pay for itself in a handful of weeks or less.
This is marketing speak. Certified by Avid means nothing other than "the OEM sent us this machine and we think it works fine." They barely test anything. I don't think you
On one hand that's true, on the other it's an exaggeration.
Hp claims there are up to 4 million possible configurations for the ZBook alone - is it really an exageration? https://www8.hp.com/us/en/workstations/Zbook-15.html I consider myself tech savy too, having self-built many many times but the
Avid recommends Intel and Nvidia only because they only test pre-built machines that OEMs send them with those components. The insinuation that you need Intel and Nvidia in a workstation to have decent longevity and more than marginally better performance (esp. within the same price bracket) is hogwash. This has everything

  • Re: 2 monitors in media composer 2020.4

You used to be able to drag your monitor and timeline windows to your primary screen and vice versa with project and bins, save that to site settings etc. I'm sure you may be able to do the same with 2020 too.

  • Re: Text misaligned in CC with Symphony option - v2019.12.1

Sorry for the late reply. I have CC option too and my text is fine. I'm convinced it's a windows display issue - I have 2 x monitors at native 1920 x 1080 @ 100% scale, extended desktop, side by side, anything else produces scrunched text. Have another look at your settings, perhaps you have different rez monitors?

Do you have any scaling going on Windows? I have found that unless I have both monitors at default 100% Avid text is distorted.
It's the last version that will work on Windows 7. That might be important for some people.
As I understand it now, the main reason is for support on pre Catalina Mac and 32bit Quicktime compatibility. I doubt Windows 7 is the main reason Mtahir since Microsoft are ending support for that next January. It's
are any of those HP turds rendering at 4.7ghz with 14 cores?
Do you not think you'd make your case a little stronger with a higher level of maturity? You only sound like your trying to convince yourself that don't need an approved system. You can get a HP 'turd' workstation with equal or better
Why is this important? If you all switched to 2020.4, ran it for awhile and then decided to go back, depending on your workflow, the projects created with 2020.4 might not work well in 2018.xxxxxxx. Jef
Totally agree - I'd missed that - and the single most important reason - at the moment.

  • Re: Segment mode

Yes I do. I used to have them closer to hand when overwrite and splice were clearly centered. I don't think making them more prominent red and yellow, at least more so than the similar looking segment modes is a huge redesign. An option then would be good.
