Mixing down would clip off all metadata, though.
I was assuming this was just for viewing purposes only.

This is easier to achieve in Davinci Resolve since you can have timelines at different frame rates within a project. Just stringout your clips on timeline, create a couple of copies and set each one to the desired framerate. Can't think of an easy way in MC apart from having three projects at the appropriate frame rates. I guess you could mix down
....you will need a way to control a Beta deck with a ComPort or other means.....Beta does not do Firewire?....
Yes, I still have the RS232-422 converter which controls the deck via a comm port on the PC.

So you know there's someone listening... I still have old equipment that will capture DVCAM, like a HP 8200, Mojo Anaogue/SDI/DX and serial VTR converters for controlling decks. I even have DVCAM and Digibeta tapes. What I don't have is any sort of machine to play them on. The best I have is a VHS deck which will occasionally correctly load

The way I generally recommend to my students is as follows... Create your proxies in Resolve at full resolution using DNX36 or HR LB. Make sure the 'Assist Using Source Tape' option is set in Resolve, so that the clips inherit a roll number (from the source file name). These become a Tape number in Avid. Export the rushes stringout as individual

Check the drives that MDV is trying to access. Can you see them in something like file explorer? Are they local drives?

To add to what Andi has said... What is your project/delivery format... HD (1920x1080), UHD (3840x2160), 2K/4K Flat or even Scope? Your 4096x2160 material will need to be fitted into these respective dimensions/aspect ratios by either cropping or letterboxing/pillarboxing. Both MC and Resolve have slightly different ways of achieving this, but the auto

One thing that might be causing the problem is the Thunderbolt conversion. I've not tried anything like this on a newer Mac but I did have a related problem with trying to get a thunderbolt 2 device to work on a PC laptop with TB4. In my case it was a Blackmagic Ultrastudio 4K (the previous version with a TB2 connection) with the Apple TB2 to TB3

I don't have the latest version installed, but I can't remember this being a problem in earlier versions of MC, so this may be a new bug that might need bumping up to support. In the meantime, you could always export a clean version to Resolve and add the subtitles there. To get the Subcap over to Resolve you'll need to export as a text

Just to check... is this using the Subcap effect or the Title+ tool? And you're seeing this on a final export?
