  • Re: Is Avid Titler totally buggy in UHD?

Dont know whether to laugh or cry. My client needs UHD title and I'm looking bad and behind... 10th crash of a morning :-(

  • Re: AVID Titler plus still useless?

I had to use it today to create UHD titles as Marquee wont do that - despite one of its best attributes being that it is vector based and resolution independent.... AVID TITLER MINUS IS A NIGHTMARE AND USELESS. Pretty shocked as its crashy dysfunctionality actually :-( Avid people are always bottom of teh tree when a client asks for a snazzy title

  • Is Avid Titler totally buggy in UHD?

Having an absolute nightmare trying to do one caption in UHD! The width percentage keeps changing of its own accord (like I had hidden keyframes) and when i render its blank! Its just doing really random inconsistent things including dissapearing!Has even bombed my very solid Avid out 3 times in 15 mins. Arghhh! Tell me its not me!

  • Re: Best way to get 9:16 out of 16:9 HD?

Thanks guys. Its been really tricky trying to find the correct width for a 9:16 raster with a known 1080 height. I tried all sorts of online calculators but they arent geared for this - I think its 608x1080 that is required as Fazz said which is an aspect ratio of .56. Squeeze gives a preview of the crop and a pixel count too, so that is helpful.

Thanks - yes i use Squeeze too - I think I can add a filter for crop and maintain the 1080 height? Cheers

  • Best way to get 9:16 out of 16:9 HD?

Its a social media thing as turning the phone through 90 degrees is too much! So I started off a new project in 1080x1920 format and bought in my 1920x1080 sequence and frame flexed it via crop. This of course pushes the original 1080 16:9 height to be the 1920 new height so it all gets a bit soggy! This is not the way I thought! What i really want

  • Re: Cannot create AMA sample mapper to play this clip

I cant play any of 5 different sequences now. Looks like this is still un resolved (pun intended). Having same issue with Resolve sourced media. Is there no fix in Avid - I did loads of edits on this last week and the files remain the exact same and its the same Avid version! Console is very busy: @ Thu Sep 3 09:12:45 2020 * Exception: Cannot create

  • Re: Does Avid accept H265 yet?

Hi Yes just downloaded latest free Resolve - never used it before. I'm just dragging the file into the bin area on left? Are there extra codecs to install as an option? It plays the DNxHR HQX transcode fine (far far better than juddery frame dropping Avid in fact...). I cant seem to link it to industry standard Sony FS7 footage even - it always

Its the Mavic 2 Pro. It will do an UHD H264 codec too in 8 bit non log.

Thanks Andi - what you say makes sense having seen some Avid bandwidth spec here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/White_Paper/DNxHR-Codec-Bandwidth-Specifications I just tried Resolve (and yes that drag/scroll in the bin thumbnail is a BRILLIANT function Peter). Sadly it doesnt seem to like my H265 source and states 'media offline'
