• Re: Please fix slow waveform redraw !!!!!!!!

You can save half your redraw time by selecting Timeline-Hamburger-Menu-->Audio-Data-->Allow-Per-Track-Settings, and then only displaying waveforms on the left channels. This has the added benefit that you will actually be able to read the clip text on the right channel timeline clips, and if you put markers in the right channel, you will see

on the right it says "Type Ctrl+. to cancel". Typing ctrl+. does not do anything.
Just to clarify; that instruction means to press the 'control' key and the '.' (period/full stop) key together, not 'c', 't', 'r', 'l',
If anyone is still having issues with this, Avid has not been able to reproduce it. Maybe someone could post problamatic files somewhere for download that Avid could access and test with. I personally have not had issues importing files with AMA. Could someone with the problem give us an idea of the size of the files. Do
That's an impressively complicated workaround. At one point the workaround that worked for me (the issue is now solved on my system) is to import the high-res version of the clip through normal FIle >Import and then delete the media on the DNx36 clip and try relinking to the new clip.
I got burned using

Thank you both for your help! So my user profile and settings from MC should still work fine with Symphony? And under what circumstances would it be useful to have both Symphony and MC on the same computer? Ken

  • Steps to upgrade MC 6.0.1.1 to Symphony 6.0.1.1

What are all of the steps necessary to upgrade from MC 6.0.1.1 to Symphony 6.0.1.1? What needs to be uninstalled? Do I need to create a brand-new user profile? Will the same settings work with both programs? Are there any shortcuts to the process, since these programs share so much source code? I am talking about a software-only installation on a Windows

Here are my workarounds: 1. For importing AVCHD, in http://community.avid.com/forums/t/108833.aspx mtahir suggests using AMD and then transcoding. This is every bit as easy as a straight import. 2. For batch import to switch from DNx36 to DNx115, my workaround has to happen at the front end: I use AMD and transcode to DNx115. Then I export the DNx115

  • Re: Batch Import of AVCHD Fails in MC6

More info: This problem does not just occur on Batch Import; it apparently affects any kind of import of an AVCHD clip, but not imports of other formats. MC6.0.1.1 seems to have requested to write the media files in the Creating directory, but another Avid process is holding the disk and blocking writes. When MC is killed, the write is no longer blocked
Try importing to 175 and see if anything changes? I'm shooting in the dark now haha.
I took you up on your DNx175 shot in the dark, CColton, but I still had the same problem. Further info: Running Batch Import on a 9:09 (9 sec + 9 frames in 24p) clip, at the time MC hangs, the media drive has three new files
