  • Re: Exporting to QT Interlacing Questions and Quandries

I had been viewing half of them on a seperate DVD player hooked up to a TV, and half on my PC. I think a lot of my "problems" were simply not knowing that the video exported from Avid will look horribly interlaced when played in QT or in the authoring software directly on my computer, that it won't look normal until I burn the DVD and

Hi, again, I followed your instructions to the letter aside from selecting "auto adaptive blend," which I could not find anywhere, either in the custom filter or MPEG2 presets. I have both DVDPro and DVDit, and had tried tests with both. I've also a slew of burners, DeepBurner, ImgBurn, as well as the ones that are bundled in the authoring

  • Re: Exporting to QT Interlacing Questions and Quandries

Thanks for the reply. I was actually trying to create a DVD, not make a quicktime for use on my PC. I then put the footage (the export that seemed to work) through Sorenson (MPEG2) and authored a DVD with DVDit. So yes, I would want it to play on a TV, and thus it could be interlaced? But that interlacing was extreme http://7jc.com/avid/test-1-1.jpg

  • Exporting to QT Interlacing Questions and Quandries

Hi, this was my 5-day quest to export a 70-minute long wedding video in Quick Time format. I failed time and time again to export a decent product, and read the "How to DVD" and nearly everything I could get my hands on in this forum, other forums, and in books such as Kaufmann's "Avid Editing" to try and solve my dilemma. I'm

  • Re: Batch capture doesn't seem to capture anything

Hi, again, Just wanted to let you know that it finally did batch capture correctly and my media is back online. I did it using the Sony Z1 instead of the Handycam. It did take about five tries, however, with various Error messages along the way that stopped the batch capture process: PMDIOFlamethrowerRed::RegisterToRecieveVsyncMessages failed - FTStatus

Hi, Thanks for the tip on posting my specs, by the way. (What was happening before, was I would tell the deck the tape name before I chose Batch Capture. This then failed to give me a Mounted prompt). So I tried it differently, where I allowed it to prompt me to mount the tape. I chose mounted, and it began capturing just as you wrote it would--I did

  • Batch capture doesn't seem to capture anything

<!-- @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> Hi, I read a ton of threads but could find no answer to this quandary. I accidentally erased a clip, so now I'm trying to batch capture the offline media. I first select the offline media, then batch capture, and the in and out points are automatically selected

  • Upgrade XP Pro to MC: will Vista and/or XP Pro work?

In regards to the upgrade from Xpress Pro to MC, what are the considerations for Vista and Microsoft XP? I have Avid installed now on the XP OS, but would like to move to Vista. Will this MC upgrade allow tihs? Can I install the same MC upgrade onto Vista and an XP OS? I would like to keep my workstation at home as Windows XP Pro, but I need to buy

  • Re: Video not playing in/post Sorenson

After running out of options, I restarted my machine as a last ditch effort. Apparently that was what I needed to do. Sorenson is now able to play the .avi files and compress them. I can now open them in Avid. Strangly, however, GSpot continues to state that the codec is not installed. So basically it's fixed, and I will ignore GSpot for now! :) Thanks
