The IO Express is a capture box for mc5.51. It uses SD-SDI,HD-SDI,HDMI for capture and monitoring. I'll post again shortly with where im at with testing.

Have you left the reference set to internal then? Do you set the audio in capture tool to be hdsdi? I'll have a proper play tomorrow, I've had it capturing some clips, but not consistantly and the moment! If I can sort this out, it will be a fantastic bit of kit!!

Mr Difficult, I've managed to get hold of a demo box to try. Output wise, all working ok via hdmi at the moment, but trying capturing im getting various different pop ups. I agree with Kristina, check the read/write speeds, but read any reviews as most manufacturers give labs speeds not actual which in my experience differ massively. Our in house graphics team have a lacie nas, which is fine for photoshop/illustrator etc, but after effects, it struggles with some projects. Why do you need a nas?

Yes ive had that a while ago. very frustrating! I think its linked to something not uninstalling originally. I had to completely uninstall anything to do with avid, avid audio drivers, sentinal drivers and a driver hidden in system32/drivers called tpkds.sys also clear the files in the registry and i deleted anything left in the avid folder after uninstall

Is anyone using this little box yet? How does MC fair with it? Does it work as it should? Any pitfalls? It's the one carrot of 5.51 that I like the sound of!

Quite literally is a 5.5.1 project backward compatible to 5.0.3.8? I can upgrade one of my systems to 5.5 because of a support contract, but thinking of keeping the others on 5.038 for a while. Would project files be cross compatible? Has anyone tried yet?
