I've experenced this error today after a crash. MC24.12 ultimate. The soltuion of task manager to end task, and reload works.

Hmm its not importing alpha'd photoshop files either..... (the PNGs were alpha'd)

I've even put it in a folder on system drive and called the file test. Same error msg. We work with a fibre shared storage environment. the same file, different suite, identical pc make/model etc, but different MC (24.10) works fine. It AMAs fine, so not a biggy for me for now.

It makes a change to give some praise to Avid. But waveforms in 24.12 are amazing, thank you. For years with waveforms turned on, you would zoom into the timeline, and they just wouldn't draw, or take forever to. This new version its almost instant :) Also no more line tearing in the waves too when scrolling the timeline. The new feature of waves

As title says, in 2024.12 I cant import a png file. I get exception error Pipes can't produce tail alignment. I can AMA it fine, so no big issue. But identical system next door to me on 24.10 imports the file with no issue. So it has to be the new version of MC. Have done the usual mcstate/user setting etc. Any ideas?

Is your footage AMA'd or transcoded? We've found it rarely works with ama. even with transcoded, it's not great with uk accents!

There was an issue with 12.4 on PC so prob same on Mac. It didn't copy the BM driver into the avid avx2 plugins folder. have a look in your applications folder for blackmagic, and there will be a plugins folder that you can copy the file yourself. on PC the file is called OpenIO_Blackmagic.acf

As lots of things have changed between setups it'll be process of elimination. As ajay says, first thing is rule avid out. Go back to matching version. then as you've upgraded bios, make sure all the avid settings are enabled/disabled. also for nvidia, check whether the power settings are correct in nvidia control panel. also I assume there's

We seem to be having issues with unrendered baselight clips in 24.2 that sometimes when you scrub through them it locks avid up and you have to task manager to force quit. Which then means you've lost what youve done upto last save. Painful at times. Anyone else noticed it. Baselight support said they are aware of it, but blame avid for breaking

23.8 brought lots of new features, with a couple of bugs. 23.12 fixed some of those bugs, and broke other working things like digital scrub! 24.2 has then fixed that and many others. We've only been using 24.2 for just over a week and its seems pretty great so far. Then your license issue. I assume as you say high end PC, its got 2 network cards
