There is also another way I only discovered recently which I use a lot now for moving segments by small amounts. Just use the red segment arrow and select the audio segment you wish to move then use the nudge keys which are defaulted to < and > for 1 frame nudge and M and ? for 10 frame nudge. Good luck

Forgive me if this is stating the obvious but the first thing I would check is make sure you are in an HDV project and have to project is format switched to 1080i (ie not downconverted) or the deck/camera will not show up. If your material is originaly 16:9 and you just want to crop it in to a 4:3 then I would scale it horizontally to something like 142% and just put my monitor in to a 4:3 mode.

Had a 2TB Lacie which worked fine for 2 weeks then I had a system hang and was forced to restart my PC. When it came back up the drive was apearing as RAW unformatted. I had exactly the same issue. I was able to get a DVD that plays correctly by going in to the DVD presets in Squeeze and changing the field dominance from upper to lower. This will force Squeeze to make mpeg files with lower field dominance. However from what I have read on these forums PAL DVD's "should" be created with upper field dominance. Squeeze

Thanks for input. Yes my source footage is DV and Sorenson does encode it correctly for viewing purposes. However the m2v file that it produces does have the property of lower field first as reported by DVDit 6 and this is opposite to what many users are saying a PAL DVD should be. And we would have to assume that the Sorenson presets just aren't set

Seems to be a lot of software out there. I had great results with another free programme called MPEG streamclip. Has lots of options. I was able to convert straight to DV codec and fast import in to Avid XP.
