    The OS I am using is XP professional and the version of avid is 5.x. Does 5.x mean it is the latest version? I dont know much about Avid and am not sure what the x stands for.

    I have installed Avid Xpress on my PC, but get sevearl errors upon opening. Has anyone experienced any of these and could be of assistance? During the process of installation I received this error: Continuing the installation of this software may impair or destabalize the correct operation of your system either immediately of in the future. Software

    It is an XPS 410 from Dell. I realized after purchasing the computer that AVID requires the NVIDIA. I am newbie to all this computer jargon, but am definetly learning through my mistakes, such as the video card choice, and through the knowledge of helpful people like yourself. How do I do the long format of the target hard drive during the install?

    Well, the computer is a brand new XPS 410 with two seperate 250 GB Serial ATA Drives, 2 G, Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ, and 256 MB ATI RADEON card.

    To any computer whiz out there: I am trying to install a copy of XP Professional provided by a buddy of mine. He is an IT guy and has been helping me troubleshoot over the phone and we have not been able to figure out a technical issue. We rebooted the computer and ran it off the CD in order to do a fresh install. It begins to set up and then crashes

    I have media center on my PC and purchased AVID in December. I put off purchasing XP Pro hoping that AVID would go Vista right away. Would you advise against spending the 309.00 for the full version with SP2 and wait a little longer till Avid makes some sort of announcement about Vista compatability? Or do you suggest just getting XP Pro and take the
