If they are both shot at 4k then why are you ending up with two different aspect ratios? Why don't you just bring them both in to a 4k project? What is the c300 shooting? You should be able to consolidate that media, not have to transcode it. When you link to the clips, don't link to the folder, go deeper and link to the individual .mxf files

Does anyone else find that when transferring sequences with audiosuite effects to another editor, often those effects do not accurately reflect what was originally rendered? We have taken to doing mixdowns of things like reverse audio effect in order to get the correct sound to come across as often it seems that the timing seems to shift. Just me? Andi

Since when did Saphire start being the same price as BCC? It's always been massively more expensive? What's going on here? Saphire builder is worth it for creating integrated effects without having to stack multiple effects clips on top of eachother. I'd prefer to have Saphire as that one was traditionally the top dog and a lot of the effect

Didn't hear back from anyone but have settled on the M4 Max with 64GB I think after watching a bunch of youtube reviews and benchmarks. We are waiting on a series to get recomissioned and then the new budget will become available so will be trying to upgrade as soon as that happens. 128GB would be ideal but the cost/performance is not there I feel
Sorry, I forgot to add that I am trying to avoid Resolve here.
Why? It's literally made by that company? If anything can work with it it's Resolve. If you can't link it directly you can definitely make it in to something Avid can link to within Resolve like Prores. Andi

Thanks Isaac! Useful info for those of us not up to date with the more recent versions. Will check out the blog! Andi

Ah, just found a good explainer on LinkedIn. Wasn't aware this was a thing. Good to know. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/praise-op1a-mxfs-editorial-use-avid-media-composer-isaac-t--fqtme Andi

Interesting. I didn't realise op1a media can be read like that? How does that work? If it's using UME it can't be quite the same as OP Atom media I guess, I thought UME was essentially just an updated way to AMA link. What's the workflow for that? Do you need to bring in an AAF or something that links up to the op1a files? Andi

Are you linking to the op1a media and attempting to do a 15 camera multicam edit with linked media? Or are you consolidating it to OPAtom? What codec is it? OP1a is a container or wrapper, what is the video essence within? What raster size? HD? UHD? What storage is it playing back from and how is that connected? What workstations are you running? HP

Seconded. Relying on a third party who could stop developing it at any point is not the way to do this. Now that we've gotten over the hurdle of Apple Silicon compatibility, can we have some renewed focus on effects and colour please. Andi
