  • Re: Importing graphics - jpegs, png etc...

Michael - yes, Douglas mentioned the same programme to me, I have downloaded a trial version and it definitely looks capable of doing a great job. However, for the 'slide show' I have in mind I needa effects for manipulating images with overlays and with masked areas and so on, that I know how to achieve easily in MC. To tackle the same jobs

Kenton: Forgot to add - many thanks for your tip as well - in my current situation ('re-importing' everything) it is extremely useful to know which image I had placed where on the timeline.

Douglas - BRILLIANT! I do indeed have all 200 tutes - and way back in the past must have watched those two tutes, but not needing them at the time, I guess they completely slipped out of the memory banks. I went through the same mistakes that you did with the Avid P&Z, and read the manual (sometimes works!) to put that right. Then tried reading

A whole new world - well two new worlds - has opened up here! Just been exploring the in built P&Z effects and was truly surprised to see that one can import an image directly into them. I never realised. Of course, I should trust MC to have all the answers ... you just need to know where to find them. Also explored the Photodex programme Douglas

Really?! I've never even looked at those two (always used the Blend - 3D-Warp to pan and zoom ...). I shall definitely have a look at those FX now ... I don't suppose they overcome the incorrect aspect ratio on import though, but if the quality is there ... some more exploring to do. Douglas has just Skyped me with another option to explore

Thanks to you both for those answers! Douglas - I'd obviously forgotten that I had seen that tutorial (way back in the very early days of me on MC!) The majority of the still pictures I have for this project are not landscape but portrait - and I want to show the whole picture against a varied or non-descript (black even!) background: also, I don't

  • Importing graphics - jpegs, png etc...

Can someone explain to me either why, or what I'm doing wrong here ... 1) Whenever I import graphic files (and it doesn't seem to matter which), no matter which 'resizing' option I select, it always comes into MC with an incorrect aspect ratio and I have to use something to reset the x or y aspect parameter. 2) The quality of imported

  • Re: Cure for a growing Attic?

Thanks for that Gerry! From my Liquid days, I have developed a habit of never deleting a project: I found invariably that if I did delete at some time afterwards I wanted or needed to get back into it. I don't have that many projects - maybe four a year. However, whether or not the Atticis the main source of MC's bin information, the the older

Thanks Pat - that's really very useful to know. I've just checked the Bin Settings - I have Max Files in a project's Attic = 1000 ; Max versions of a file in the attic = 50 (that sounds a lot from what you said). I then checked one of the largest projects I've been working on - one of that Project's bins (with just sequences in)

  • Cure for a growing Attic?

I've searched through the Forums here, and see that there have been a lot of threads concerning the Attic, and the fact that it 'cannot be shifted to another drive'. Also threads regarding the fact that the Attic can grow in size. I have that problem here - my Attic is now around 15 GBytes: Space on the C drive is shrinking rapidly - down
