• Re: Audio issues

I have tried to upgrade from 8.2 to 8.3 and also installed the latest AJA drivers (new unified driver release) but seems not to have helped... Also double checked everything was setup per Avid's Z440 config guide. Disabled Win8 fast start. But it still is happening my customer is telling me :-( (of course it doesn't happen when i'm onsite

Hi Jonathan, Have you been able to get any further with your audio problem? I'm also having a customer with similar problems; after the system has been idle lots of times the audio playback will become muffled and very low volume. This can only be solved by restarting Media Composer. This system is also using a Io Express and MC 8.2 so they are

  • Thank you Marianna

You won't have to look very hard to find more posts like this on this forum. But with the help Marianna is providing to the Avid community the least i/we could do is show our appreciation for it because it is not something which should be taken for granted. Thanks a lot for helping me out the way you did! That's all for now

went with the standard 7200rpm HD for the boot drive.
I changed to 15.000rpm boot drives some time ago, much faster, then last year to SSD (Vertex). Much faster boots and such.
Seek time of SSD is way shorter, no HDD can compete with that even 15k drives do not
Sounds like an issue with drive speeds to me. Sidenote: the 3.2GHz is not qualified, the 2.66 is. It should run, but you wrote "fully qualified"...
Another sidenote; 24GB also isn't supported, but just as the CPU's is unlikely to make performance worse.

Also make sure you use a SSD as the system drive - this will really make the Z800 fly when compared to a standard 7.200rpm system drive. And they are "cheap" too when compared what you already paid for your system. And you must also look at your video storage to make sure it's performing good enough. Anyway, i'm sure you will see big

  • Re: New Avid Support… Phishing e-mail?

IIRC Avid does use salesforce for this. And also; being linked to the salesforce website doesn't seem phising like (if this is the real URL).
