I have also experienced this. I assumed it was a bug and went ahead and used the Audio Suite EQ plug-in with one of the factory presents to create telephone effect. Of course, these have to be rendered, unlike plain EQ effects, but the quiet export problem went away.

My DNxIO works fine on BM 14.5 with Mac silicon Mac Pro. Did you follow the BM install instructions EXACTLY? There is a moment where you can accidentally not turn on either the Driver Extension or the Camera Extension. You have to make sure that ALL Blackmagic extensions -- driver and camera -- are activated.

I would start a support case if I were you.

I had this problem and did not realize in recent releases, the user interface has added a mappable hardware toggle button called HW/SW. I semi-regularly (every few days) find I need to right-click this button reactive my BM device and turn on the hardware monitor. Kind of a pain but not a huge deal. Is this possibly what's going on for you?

Excellent! We've all been there, losing a day, finding some answers here. Glad you're up and running.

You need to be on Blackmagic driver 14.5.

Looking around at some recent Geekbench scores shows a pretty minor difference. M3 Ultra 24-core 98GB RAM: 28169 M4 Max 16-core 64GB RAM: 26494 Once you get up into those numbers, I think you won't notice much of a performance difference on MC. I'd probably go with the M4 Max since it's about $1000 cheaper, or crank up the RAM on the M4

Good move. I would not get a 2019 Mac Pro anymore. I had 2019 16-core until last year and then moved up to a 2023 Mac Pro, and the difference is notable. MC 2024.12 now runs so much better on silicon Macs. And if you don't need PCI slots, those M4 Mac Minis are a good deal.

"you could also opt to transcode to DNxHR while maintaining the source's frame rate" This would be my preferred method in this case.

I'm running 2024.12 on an M2 Mac with Blackmagic 14.5 drivers. MAJOR stability improvements, snappy timeline response. A few minor glitches, but I'm not exaggerating when I say this is most significant upgrade I've seen in a decade.
