Same issue here, 8.9.3 as well, trying to run 4k footage from a C300 on an external USB 3.0 to DNxHR LB on my media drive (OSX). The C300 footage fails to run as does some H264 cellphone footage on the same external. Background services icon is red. I can Stop them and Start them, but it fails to start properly. Nothing in Console.

Thanks, this led me to the latest readme. Looks like when the Digidesign surfaces went 1394, they left Avid MC support behind. Would have been nice to continue to use my friend's old tool, but perhaps I can find another home for it and pick up a Command|8 used or hunker down for a current surface from Avid.
