My boot drive is a WD Caviar Black 6Gb/s SATA III 750GB which I've split into several partitions. I have many OS's on my machine including XP. I tend to create a partition on this drive that also holds all the data e.g. 'C' is for Windows and 'D' is for data (not footage data - that's on a separate drive). I have a separate

I'm using MC5.5 and I have 2 x Dual Xeon 5150 CPUs. During rendering, MC uses all 4 cores to about 80% in total more or less.

I'm running MC5.5 on W7 64-bit. I also have MC6 on a different partition. Personally, I would upgrade to the latest i.e. MC7 if possible. I'm only using MC5 at the moment because I have a Analog Mojo which is not supported on MC6 and above.

I don't know what benefits the dual graphics card will give you unless you're running more than 2 monitors but perhaps someone else can comment on any additional benefits if there are any. From MC6 onwards, you need Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, although, MC7 also supports Windows 8 Pro 64-bits now. However, if you're running MC5 in a 32-bit OS

You might want to start with the list of supported machines (it also lists the qualified graphics card too). I believe the Dell T7600 is on the list. This is useful info too. I don't anything about 4K requirements, although, this thread talks about 4K.

Thanks for the info. And the time starts once you install - there is no trial activation screen like the Adobe stuff?

Is there an official list of what the limitations are, if any, on the MC7 trial? Also, when does the tiral begin - from install or is it when you activiate the trial? Thanks

It's great to hear that MC7 does it. I'm using MC5.5.3.7 and I have MC6 but not 6.5 so I can't import it. I use a Panasonic SD707 that shoots 1080P/50.

You'll have to convert it to 25p. I use Sorenson Squeeze to do that. If you convert it using the DNxHD codec in Squeeze then it will fast import into Avid. No worries, I hope it works.
