Ha! Per our concurrent conversation , Jason, I created new user settings, then went back to using the settings I had been working with prior and now the HW/SW button does disable my third monitor and allows me to go full screen. That button wasn't working before. Martin

Jason, I hate it when new settings is the correct answer. But wait! Turns out that creating new settings then returning to the old settings got rid of the problem. Curiouser and curiouser. Killer App for a limited market : an Avid Users Settings updater that removes confilcts and lists the things you have to redo yourself. Martin
