  • Re: How to change 16 Bit Audio to 24?

If you imported the sound seperately from the video, change your project audio settings to 24bit, select all of your audio master files then select CLIP > Batch import from the menu. That will re-import all of your audio. Since it's the master clips, you should still be in sync afterwards.

" Resolve really wants two cards " Ok, so it´s Avid certified or Resolve certified, I´m still surprised and prefer Avid certified , 25 % of realtime is well enough for me though so I prefer to continue with my Avid . No, you can have both in a tower. You can have a card that is avid certified that makes avid run long nicely and

  • Re: Killing a ( Resolve ) rumour

Resolve really wants two cards, one to run your interface and one to offload the transcoding to. Single GPU, yes, you may not see much of a difference between the two pieces of software. I have an 8 core 3.0 2008 mac pro that I added a second gpu to, a GTX 670, 3 years ago. On RED 4k, with just that as the gpu, I got about 25fps in resolve transcoding

  • Re: What DNxHD for 35Mbps MP4 from Canon HF G30?

To chime in, some people may tell you that since the orignal codec is only 28Mb/s, that DNx36 will be fine. Stick with the higher DNx145 as recomended. In my tests I've found that inside the entire frame, DNx36 does work well and you can barely tell a diffence between the source and the transcode, but thats only with the large objects in frame.

How many days of shooting is it? What are you finishing in? If it's more than 4 days, or it's going to resolve for finishing, I highly recommend running it thru Davinci Resolve for transcoding instead. I've done both, and if you have a lot of source clips, you may prefer round tripping it.

  • Re: Mac Pro 6 core or 8 core?

I have the 6 core but I added the D700 graphic cards. I'ts a nice balance between clock speed and gpu power. Being as how Avid doesn't make full use if multicore processors, you want to have good cpu speed. But, if you're running other programs that are multicore aware, you don't want to be at a disadvatnage. I run Avid, Resolve and
