• Re: Switching Activations repeatedly
Hi anamorphic, It should not be a problem deactivating/activating between two machines. RalphC
Marianna/RalphC, ok thanks that's good news, but you can see where I was concerned; looks like the word "Not" got lost somewhere along the line :).

Are you saying I can NOT switch between 2 machines?

  • Switching Activations repeatedly

I have a new MacPro with MC Catalina beta installed. In order to use it I must deactivate my older Mac running 2019.12. Will it be a problem repeatedly deactivating/activating the different MCs as I negotiate between the two computers & softwares?

Great! I'm installing it on my new MacPro which is sitting across the room as I slowly move things from my old Mac to the new one. Is there a separate forum for chatting about the new version or is that a beta-testers only type of thing?

  • Re: DEFAULT WORKSPACES

No fuss started. I've been an Avid owner/editor since it first debuted in the early '90s. I've weathered the various versions, patches, changes and Avid's "if it ain't broke we'll fix it anyway" business model. Now they're trying to emulate Premiere Pro, which I get, but it's at the expense of things that didn't

I would like the EDIT, EFFECTS, AUDIO and COLOR default workspaces to be customized and defined by me (now possible). And WHEN they revert back to factory defaults (which the always do for some reason) I want to be able to replace them with my saved versions of those customized workspaces without having to totally recreate them (not possible). “Predefined

Yes, I do this as well, but it doesn't address the issue of being able to have my customized workspaces hard-assigned to the EDIT, EFFECTS, COLOR and AUDIO defaults. The problem is that they cannot be replaced.

  • DEFAULT WORKSPACES

I customize my DEFAULT WORKSPACES: Edit, Effects, Color, Audio and save them with Save Current. I also make a safety copy that I drag to Site Settings. They'll work fine for a week or so, then suddenly the Composer window will move to my second monitor (which was unchecked in Windows/Host Panels but is now checked), same with Color, etc. When I

Oh yes, I've tried creating several new users. Here's a look at my WINDOWS menu: Notice that even when I try to "Replace" the default workspaces they are just added to my custom list, even with the SAME names. If I click on the default workspaces they are not mine. When I click on the similarly named spaces they are my custom ones

  • Getting tired of resetting workspaces

I'm REALLY sick of losing my custom workspaces in 2019.7. I'm talking about EDIT/COLOR/EFFECTS workspaces that I customize and SAVE. Everything is peachy for a couple of days, then they are gone. I've even dragged them into Site Settings and those are gone, too. It's bad enough that we only have a choice now of a white or dark Interface
