  • Re: Failed to get temporal offset

It's very random and sporadic. Some clips raise the error on some machines and on others they don't. On the 'other' machines, we find different clips from the same roll may raise the error instead. With some rolls, we find the same clips raise the error without fail every time.

Indeed we did, and although there isn't a sequence loaded and the timeline was never in use, we still made sure waveforms were turned off anyway but unfortuntaely it didn't help.

You're definitely correct with all your comments above. We have exhausted quite a bit of that. The only thing I'd say we haven't tried is removing one of the workstations from the network and trying that. Although, with previous (unrelated) issues we've never seen removing machines from the network help solve the issue. The U2's

Hi Lukas, The error is also there when we try to consolidate i'm afraid. The only option that seems to work is importing them then transcode to DNxHR LB but we can't continue to do that as it takes longer. As i said to Bruno, we've been AMA / Transcoding from XDCams for years and this has never been a problem so I'm hoping there's

Hi Bruno, Unfortunately copying the files to an array isn't an option for us. The clients shoot directly on / or export to XDCam and it's shelved forever and never re-used. This is why the discs are used, as with data backups we would have to retrieve media from previous series from LTO and re-ingest. I was really hoping there's something

I'd really like to hear from anyone else that is experiencing this problem. Things have moved on since 2014 but the issue now plagues us. Workflow: Insert XDCam (optical disc) into PDW-U2 device > Link AMA > Transcode DNxHR LB Errors: Exception: Failed to get the sample size from AMA Plugin Exception: Failed to get temporal offset from AMA

  • Slow Rendering Sapphire Effects

We're experiencing poor CPU utilisation when rendering a timeline in Avid. We're using a 10gbps connection to our Avid Nexis storage system and only achieving write speeds of around 200mbps. We would expect higher write speeds with more CPU utilisation but for some reason it only stays at around 13% on all cores for the entire render process

  • Re: A bug? Some users cant click/scroll/close open bins

I can confirm that this problem still exists in 2018.12.6. It's proven to be present across multiple HP Z4 computers in our facility. In this case it was a locked bin that was in use by another machine. You can't move the bin, click to close or double click on clips to load into source monitor. Nothing can be selected. If a bin is sitting behind

Hey Aren! That's cool stuff. Great to know there's a workaround but to have to pay for software to get this done? Don't get be wrong I'm all up for scripts, macros and automation. But as a Windows user the all powerful F2 key will enter rename mode on pretty much any file or folder. Really hoping Avid support it in a future release!

  • Re: XAVC-S Nablet crash with Ama 2018.12.1

Have a go at completely uninstalling the XAVC-S plugin by Nablet and try AMA linking to the MP4 files using the quick Alt+Drag-drop function. I've found that MC 2018.12.1 will successfully AMA to XAVC-S files and also displays the correct TCs via the Generic plugin that comes pre-intalled. It could be that your Nablet plugin is interfering with
