As long as you don't use Resolve. For some reason, Resolve only works with Blackmagic hardware. Go figure.

If you intend to use the HDMI monitor as a computer display it will work based upon whatever your CPU and graphics card is capable of handling. As far as the Avid is concerned, you can use Full Screen Display for monitoring but a Computer Display is not a Video Display. Computer displays don't do Interlace, they expect RGB rather than 601/709 levels

If the OS sees the ports, then Avid will see the ports. Keep in mind that FW800 capture seems problematic on newer releases even with native ports and that the HDMI port on that device is for outputs, not inputs.

If you're running OSX 10.10.4 or 10.10.5 you should upgrade to MC 8.4.1 as it's the only version currently supporting those OS releases.

Call Avid Support, it's a free call (despite the dire warnings). They should be able to sort it out for you regardless of which end (yours or theirs) is causing the problem.
