• Re: Color control panels for Avid

I have an artist color, never use it in MC. I don't think I'd use it, even if it was working well. MC's CC seems to lend itself to mouse + KB for some reason. But yes, baselight inside avid is the bomb, good use for an artist color. And snappy too.

  • Re: BSOD on exit MC 2018.12.11 Windows 10 MOJO DX

hmm sorry, I only have 2 unlikely Ideas: * It's not the Mojo but the GPU, all your DX systems have similar GPU and Win 10 auto updates installed a bad driver. * Power settings Windows 10: Advanced Power Options ->PCI Express -> Disable everything and have you done this fix from avid for mojo? Is for very different symptoms though.
The good change that happened between the 400s and the 420s was that PCIe3.0
Yes, but you won't see real world performance differences from the increased bandwidth. What CPU model is currently in your machine? you can look that up in device manager.

I also recommend the SSD and RAM upgrades. I'm also quite certain that we could upgrade the CPU to 8 cores for about 2-300 bucks used. After that you can use the machine for 5 years more if you want.

Ah, don't bother with extra work of sending the ram back because of a few mhz, nevermind. A 2tb SSD for the OS? 2tb smells like data drive for me, 256 or 512 for OS is usually enough for me. 34 Wide screens are nice, the ultra wide timeline is very neat for Avid. But 2x27" is better if you do a lot of office work too. I've used LG 34WL850
The Gigabyte 10g motherboard only supports up to 2666 ram
I'm still inclined to get 2933. If you use it on a board that only supports 2666 it will run at that speed. 2933 is standard in this generation, this ram will be neater to repurpose down the road. and costs the same.
Why such slow RAM? Cascake Lake X officially supports 2933 and the RAM controller should under normal conditions be able to run at least 3200.
2933 is enough, There’s currently no benefit for overclocking RAM on Intel systems.
M2: I think that you need to buy a VROC key
