Not sure if this helps or not, but here is my .02c. I have dual 10 core Zeons (40 total hyperthreaded cores) and 128 GB RAM. I cut only 4K video, online quality (i.e. DNxHR HQX) I need all the power I can get. I do not think that Avid uses all of the power it has available to it ... but Avid is not the only toy in my toolbox. Adobe suite of apps (After
I always apply the Safe Color at 4:2:2 but only above video tracks and below title track (s).
Hi George, thank you for your response. Question: why do you place the Safe Colour effect above the video but below the titles? What is the advantage of that?
The first thing you should do is bring the offending export back into MC and see if you can see any difference between it and your final sequence. If all looks OK to you using whatever internal /external scopes you have, we must assume that unless the the QC facility have some fault with their equipment, you are effectively
hmm, any chance the "ringing around the fonts" correlates with external graphics that have been imported incorrectly with "do not modify" color levels? i'd get another opinion on the file in say after effects. measure with e.g. color picker. Hello all, I was wondering if you could help me with a vexing problem that perhaps one or more of you has encountered in the past. I am exporting my timeline: 2160p, 29.97 UHD. Codec, as per the AMA File Export tool is DNxHR HQX in an MXF OP1a wrapper. Problem is, when I send this file to the QC facility, they are reporting “frequency issues”

Just out of curiosity DStone, what is the sync like on that 3rd monitor of yours, are you 100% fully in sync, no frame lag, (not even a fraction of a frame) between that and your composer monitor?

Hi Flo, sorry I did not reply to this thread sooner, I was out of town on vacation for a bit. Thank you for the advice about using AMA File Export. I knew that Avid had built-in tools to handle output, but I didnt know how to access them. Your suggestion worked perfectly and the file is now on its way out the door. In this case, I used Direct Out, as

Hi Everybody ... The native format of my 4K timeline is DNxHR HQX - High Quality (12-bit 4:2:2). I need to deliver this timeline to the broadcaster who will accept MXF (probably would accept QT too, have to check on that). (I know they accept Pro-Res but I am working on Windows system, hence no Pro-res.) How do I get my great looking 4K show out of

I just thought I would add my .02c to this thread. I, too, have wondered aloud why Avid would not implement transfer modes, and I lamented the fact that I would have to purchase BCC 10 in order to get what I want, which is the same cool modes as I have used since forever ago (easiest way to make an effect) in After Effects and Photoshop. Difference

Sorry I didn't make it more clear, yes, I am working in UHD 3840x2160 project. Also, I didnt realise that you only get 444 capability when working in RGB color space (which I am not doing). So I have rendered some After Effects animations in 444 ... and on import to Avid, its informing me that the setting in my Media Creation is set to DNxHQX (12
