  • Output seqence is huge

I'm new to Avid ediitng and recently upgraded to Media Composer 7.0.3 on my MacBookPro (OSXMaverick 10.9.1). I imported a 5.17GB .mov HD video file at 1080p/29.97 with raster dimensions of 1920x1080. This does not play smoothly in the Avid. I have attempted to output, left it running all night, and finally aborted. The partial file was over 80 GB

  • Re: Error exporting to QT

I'm trying to save it on an external 4TB GDrive. There is plenty of room in there (1.7TB left) . Not sure how to 'set permissions' other than mapping it in media capture. Is that what you meant? Or did you mean formatting the drive a special way? I am also having trouble importing QT's to this drive, though not to my 2TB GRaid drive

  • Re: Exception: Cannot quick import a mixed resolution quick time movie

I have tried moving this to a different drive and it worked on my computer hard drive (which I won't use for video storage!) and two Rugged Lacie 500 GB drives, as well as my 2GB G-Raid Drive. However, I would like to import to a 4TB GDrive - I have two and neither works. I get the same error message (Exception: Cannot quick import a mixed resolution

  • Error exporting to QT

I'm having lots of trouble exporting to Quick Time. Whether it's a QT Reference File or a Quick Time file, I get the message "Error - file or directory could not be found". I have mixed down both my autio and video tracks (and I've tried several video codecs, none work). I'm using 'Same as Source' 'Avid Codecs'

  • Imported video stutters & stalls in Avid

HI, I'm relatively new to editing with Avid. I'm working on a 1080p HD project in Avid Media Composer 6.5.0. Some imported video stutters and freezes when I'm editing it into a sequence - mainly video shot on SLR cameras, but not Canon XF300. This same video plays smoothly through Quicktime on my computer. I'm using an Apple MacBook

  • Can't hear .mp3 audio in source

I'm relatively new to Avid editing and feel a little silly asking this, but I can't find what the problem seems to be. While I can hear and work with all other audio in the source mode, I cannot hear .mp3 music files loaded into that side. I have exhausted all resources looking for the answer, which I'm sure is completely obvious - i just

Moving it to a different drive did the trick! Thank you so much - I would never have found it searching the site. Its a little baffling why that error would come up in the first place. You are a lifesaver!!

  • Exception: Cannot quick import a mixed resolution quick time movie

I get the above error when attempting to import a .mov file into my Avid. I'm working on Media composer 6.5.0 and a Quick Tiime pro player 7 version 7.7.1. I've tried all suggestions on the Avid site for this problem, including updating Quick Time and making sure it supports my editor, creating a new bin, deleting MCstate, SiteSettings, and
