I have norrowed the problem down. HDV footage shot on the Canon will not play back on the Sony deck. It does not appear to be an Avid issue at all. Has anyone else had any issues with this deck not playing Canon footage?

I am having some issues capturing an HDV signal from both a Canon HX-A1 camera as well as a Sony HVRM-15U HDV deck. Both have the same problem, so there must be something wrong with my set up in Avid. Avid (5.6.7) "sees" both the deck and camera, and will allow me to control them, but when I try to capture footage it says there is no input signal present

Avid crashed during an import of a QT leaving a currupt file in the "Creating" folder, which prevents Avid from starting up. Windows does not allow me to delete it. It gives me an error message, as if it is locked. I have checked all security settings and nothing works, still get the error. Has anyone had this happen before? It's as if Windows does

I was sent some QT clips in PAL format from a client to be incorperated into an NTSC project. I have never worked with PAL footage before and was wondering if anyone had any experiences converting them to NTSC they could share with me. Should I convert all the clips in After Effects first or can I just import them into the 29.97 project? Any tips would

I have always streamed analog footage from a DVD player or VCR through my camera and into Avid. That worked great until upgrading to 5.5. The video still comes through fine, just no audio. You would think that dragging the pop up window to a different monitor before clicking OK would make it pop up on the monitor you dragged it to last, but it keeps coming back on the FSD. The best solution I have come up with so far was to map FSD to a keyboard short cut. At least I only have to hit one button to get it back. But
