  • Re: warning, Windows 10 2004 not compatible with older versions of MC

I have a second box, running an older dongle (8.10 i think) and it seems fine. Windows is up to date.

  • Re: Avid Media Composer and 4K computer screens

I have used (basically) boh of your options. I ran ultra wides for a while (yes two of them), mine were a bit smaller than your option, as they were basically two (4) 1920x1080s next to each other. I liked them for the timeline in avid, but wasn't a fan everywhere else. In the end I was still dealing with 1080 vertical resolution, although, yes

  • Re: Do I need a (Avid Artist) I/O?

I'll chime in here with my 2 cents. I own an Artist transport, Artist colour, and Artist Control. I have at one time or another used them all with Avid DS, Avid Media Composer, and Davinci Resolve, although because of my workflow, the Colour panel was used mostly for Resolve and DS...can't really speak to it for Media Composer/symphony. I would

  • Dock with Media composer no longer functioning

I've had the Protools dock for around 8 months now, and was pretty happy with its functionality in Media Composer. Recently, the fader bar has stopped working properly. I can select a channel, and lower the levels, but as soon as I let go the fader, it snaps back to the zero position. The Mixer screen on the play app shows the level back up at 0

  • Re: Re the new MOV UME export option

I have been having some memory issues when exporting a direct out master to ProRes (windows box) pops up a "Out of Memory" error flag. Program is a bit long (1 hour 20 mins) but I think the hangup is the audio. If i do a stereo output, it will go through, but i can't get the direct out version - 5.1 surround plus described video, so 8

  • Re: Workflow to move projects between 2 PC's?

I used dropbox as the location of my Avid projects folder for years without any major issues. The only time i got tripped up is if i left the project open at the office, and then opened it at home. I would get a project conflict error, which creates a duplicate of the project. I now have my edit suite at home, and use Mimic with a shared server, so

  • Re: On-screen countdown clock

Don't be too hard on Avid. I just a quick searh on Premiere and Resolve count down timers, and it looks like you would have to build them yourself there as well. FWIW, spending 5 mins to build one ahead of time, save it, and bring it back in as a media item...there is nothing wrong with that approach. That is what I did for my various formats of

  • Re: Digital juice

The fact that you are running MC really isn't relavent to most of what digital juice offers. Yes there are templates specifically for AE and Motion, but there are tons of music files, backgrounds, keyable elements, stock footage. I bought my plan about 5 or so years ago, and it has more than paid for itself. I see they are now rolling out a newer

  • Re: non drop frame sequence to drop

Its easy to change a current sequence to or from drop frame or full frame, unfortunately, you cannot save the change. I believe the current Nitris reverts back to how the sequence was originally created. I'm not sure, but I think the older (v 4.0) would keep your change. Either way, right click in your timeline, in the notches that show your current
