• Re: Avid Editor Patch Problem with NVidia Driver

I have requested that the patch instructions pdf on the patch center download page be updated to include the new procedure. Everyone please be advised that as of the patch release, it is now necessary to uninstall any and all previous patches before installing the new one, even on PCs, as stated in the thread link that Chris posted.

  • Re: Sequence won't render

You're best bet right now is to make sure you get to the latest build of MC 4. That would be, looking at the read me there were a bunch of render issues fixed with patch releases. You can get the latest patch by going to the link below then choosing Avid Editor Patches from the bottom right:

  • Re: problems with Avid P in P effect

Sorry, yes. You will need to install 5.0.4 first from the main page of the download center . When you go to the link I just provided, you should be at the master account sign in page, and then when you sign in you should be taken directly to the download lists. I just logged in to be sure it works that way and it does for me on Firefox. Then, from the...

Steve: The difference is that most of the recent releases have been "maintenance release" patches, which are not full version upgrades. Patches fix established and escalated problems, but they do not introduce any new features or capabilities. Those happen in full version upgrades. Since patches are added on to the base version on the PC side...

  • Re: MC/SN and Patch NOW AVAILABLE

Here's what I recommend you do. First, uninstall whatever version you currently have. If it's version 5 or older, be sure to deactivate your software license first before uninstalling. If you are running on a dongle, disregard deactivating - the dongle is your license. If you have version 6 installed, you do not need to deactivate the software...

  • Re: Upgrading from MC 6.0.0 to MC

    Hi Igor:
I also plan to upgrade from 6.0.0 to, but onto a new computer, so I would need to deactivate the 6.0.0 before switching computers.
That is correct, since it's a different computer. As of version 6, upgrading on the same computer no longer requires deactivating the software license. I have already...

  • Re: quick question

Actually, if you go to the download center , your choices are to (1) download the full version install of 5.0.4 under the "Avid Media Composer" link to do a fresh full install, (2) go to the "Avid Editor Patches" link, where you can download the 5.0.4 update file (if you're currently running 5.0 or 5.0.3) and then after doing...

  • Re: Timecode on AMA clips changes when project moved to another system

Here's a link to the Version Matrix which you can always get to from the START HERE thread at the top of the forum. v5.0.4 is the last official release (from July 2011) of v5.0.x. v5.5.x and v6.0.x continue to be updated, as does the current release, v6.5. There are, however, four patches in the "Editor Patches" section of the Download...
