Stu: If you are still running 6.0.1 you really should get what you are entitled to free which is 6.0.3.4, so you'll have all the latest fixes and see whether the problem persists. You will need to download and install first the full 6.0.3 version from the "Avid Media Composer" link, then install the 6.0.3.4 patch file from the "Avid...

According to the Version Matrix , MC v5.0.3 is only qualified for OS 10.6.3 or 10.6.4; while the latest patch (MC v5.0.4.3) are only qualified for OS 10.6.6 or 10.6.7. Hi Evan:
did this release fix the Smart Tool?
If it's not in the readme, I would have to assume not. I can't test it myself, as I am running 5.5.3.2. I assume you're referring to the random re-enable issue.
And is it free for owners of 5.0.3?
Yes, it...

Thanks for answering. I actually ended up having to call in Avid support to find out that MC 5.03.8 will help. It's not too easy to find on this site but it's here. It's called an editors patch, which is deceiving since all patches would seem to be so. Not sure what the other patches that are easily found within the download center are called...
I presume that means patches are no longer available to those without access to the downloads section? So customers without support can't access patches?
No, that is not the case. After signing in to their master account, all customers will have access to the "Avid Editor Patches" link in the...

Not sure if this is the issue, but you are on an unsupported system. According to the Version Matrix , MC v5.5.3 is the first version qualified for Lion, and that is only 10.7.0. v5.5.1 should be on OS X 10.6.6. If you update to MC v5.5.3.3 (available under Editor Patches in the Download Center) you can use OS X 10.7.3.
