Last October I posted on this thread that I wished there was a way to turn off the Live Timeline. Now it's time to eat my words! Over the last several months, I've grown to very much appreciate the capabilities. Yes, I had to slightly alter my workflow, but the benefits of the Live Timeline functionality made it well worth the effort!

Try right-clicking on one of the Hero clips to access the Source Settings and change the playback rate to 24fps. The footage will play as slo-mo, but you can do a mixdown and add a motion effect to bring the speed back to normal.

What is the frame rate of the 4k footage? If it's 59.94, it's very difficult to get smooth playback at any resolution, at least on my system. But when I change to a 30p project (29.97) the 4K footage plays perfectly. The choppyness seems to be more related to frame rate than resolution.

Totally agree. I've been editing on Avid products since the beginning of time and the Effect Palette (and much more) was readable only when we were all using 640x480 monitors! Hopefully this will be addressed with the new GUI in the 2019 release.

I have screen shots of all my settings that I use for reference when rebuilding User settings. Just open up the Keyboard settings and make a screen grabs, including with Shift (or other modifiers pressed). Really speeds up the process.

I have a Mid 2010 5.1 that was upgraded a few years ago, instead of going to the Mac Trash Can. I replaced the original 12-core 2.66 with a 12-core 3.46 and added an NVIDIA Quadro K5000 video card. I use it extensively with both Media Composer and After Effects, as well as encoding with Media Encoder. The bulk off our work is broadcast 1080i using DNxHD

I use iKey for Mac and have many custom keyboard shortcuts involving keyboard commands and mouse clicks. It's a very helpful app for increasing speed and efficiency while editing.

It's broken and a known bug beginning for me with version 2018.12. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
