I have an older Mac system running 2018.x (?) that does this some times. Mainly on the first start up of Avid after I turn on the computer. If I wait awhile before starting Avid, it seems to not do it as much. If I just exit Avid after it has the hang and restart it has always been fine (knock on wood). I wonder if starting Avid with the command to

Really, this discussion shows the weakness of the new UI management. When I work with Premiere on a Mac I have most of my settings made to fully hide the computer desktop workspace. A couple are made so that I CAN see the desktop. Very easy to do and to use as an editor. I give Adobe credit for this. Jef
Honestly no. Should I do this in 25fps. I have never worked with 25 fps before and just opened a 1080p 29.97 project. What type of files were made by the camera (codec and wrapper)? Can you link to a camera source file and compare timecode to the same clip in Avid? Do they match? If they do, can you load that same clip into Resolve and see if the timecode matches there to what Avid has? Jef

Check to see if you have any clips where the time code goes over the 24 hour mark back to 00:00:00:00. Jef
Reading the notes, What’s Fixed in 2021.6: The following has been fixed: Bug Number: MCCET-3702 is in the bugs fixed, I'll download it and give reports here if somebody is interested.
That is not how I read the document. I see Bug Number: MCCET-3702 in the Limitations section with the workaround noted
