What's curious to me is the deafening silence from Avid. Instead of "cutting the story off at its knees", Avid is letting this thing take a life of its own. If I am Kelli Callaghan, I would be on these forums as fast as possible to explain the ACA and Avid Connect in detail and put an end to the speculation. We may not like what the ACA

This is really sad. Keli, I think you guys really need to go back and rethink this entire thing. With these forums, you have the perfect opportunity to interface with your most passionate user-base, trade ideas for the future and really hear what is happening out in the "real world". Instead you have chosen to create some sort of "club"

I found out a bit more. The $500 is to attend the Avid Connect event at NAB in the spring. It looks like the association annual fee is $150. Still unclear on what the association does to make it worth me paying $150 to Avid. Here is the link to the Avid Connect thing: http://www.cvent.com/events/2014-avid-connect/event-summary-c47f8fd75e884a719523823287debf9a

Would love to see this in MC. Being able to do this in FCPX in addition to the Audition feature is a significant workflow enhancement.

Kenton - I agree. Any NLE and a knowledge of After Effects seem to be a good recipe for steady employment. I think Adobe realizes this and is rushing to make Premiere better and better and work even closer with the AE workflow. While Premiere is not my favorite by a long shot, I feel I have to know it these days as a freelance editor. sw
