Aren't the cables passive? (Nothing but wires) hard to imagine they could go wrong. Its more likely the hardware graphics is somehow locking up and unpluging and repluging the cables resets it. But who knows.

I don't believe there will be a work around. Apple controls the Graphic drivers as part of the OS and clearly there is an issue with that 5500 card and the Apple driver. Lots of Internet posts about crashes with a range of different apps. Even Apple ones. It's a duff Apple product. But Apple has moved on I can't see Apple addressing it,

[quote user="Dom Cobb"] Thanks for the link Philip, thats most useful. And thanks Pat for the rundown of your experience. I've always been the first to jump on an update, with potential improvements & new features, but this UI redesign seemed like a change for the sake of it, rather than for the better. I'll be trying it again

[quote user="wrtndcdgml"] Hi Job! Thanks a lot for your answer, I tried this and it works. Most of the subclips are replaced by their masterclips. However, there's some subclips that won't relink to the masterclips. I´ve checked it and the masterclips that correspond to that subclips are selected. Have you ever had this problem

I've been running a similar HPZ840 for over a year now on all the recent MC versions crash free. I'm using a P 5000 card.

I can't imagine anyway Avid would re write the 2018 code for the new silicon. Especially to aknowledge the new UI is unpopular. In fact the opposite is more likely to play out that support for new hardware and CPUs forces people to the new UI. I have to say I wasn't a fan on the new UI and of course like all new things it had its issues and

It doesn't really work out like that. The last version of that "years" release has point releases to add compatibility with the features added in later versions. So once 2018.12 was released it had ongoing point releases to add compatibility that a 2021 or 2022 version won't have needed. I'd look at the known issues in the release

A neat Avid feature request would be the option to have an Avid panel linked to a specific document (or URL) This could be remembered within the project and re-opened as needed.

I'd test with local storage first. If its ok then it points to an EditShare issue or network issue. Id try that problematic crate on a network connection that is working ok. I'd then contact EditShare to seek their support.

In the source and record monitors you can clearly see the timecode has been burnt into the rushes as the bottom of the picture. Loads of ways of doing that. Could easily have been using the Avid TC and generator effect before Transcoding to edit media.
