"Even if I knew I'm not sure I'd be at liberty to discuss such things" That's strange... I can understand not discussing new release dates for major product upgrades... but, a patch? Can you imagine if other businesses ran their communication and flow of information this way to their customers... I can see it now... Mechanic fixing

I have a 123,000,000 (123Gigs) size untitled sequence mxf file that I have no idea which project this belongs to... is there any way to find this out? The only reference I have is the date it was created... and, that seem to help much at all.... I also can't find any sequence that is titled - "untitled".

You do not need to create a proxy... In AE you don't really "export"... it is a quirky thing with AE... but, you would (in AE speak) add the composition to the render queue... from the render que you will then choose the format you wish to render the composition out as... or, in MC speak ...it would said... from the Render Queue Window
If you export the section of video that you wish to title into AE and work on it as your bottom-most layer you can still have the flexibility that you need. Once you have completed your AE work, turn off the Avid-supplied video and export your composition as QT Animations, millions+. Import that into Avid with the alpha

I am still using AE4 with MC5 and was wondering if the AE5 with MC5 would have the problems you were having... but... seeing how you are on both most current versions... I see the problem is common between both AE4 and AE5 versions.

BarkinMadd What versions of Avid and AE are you describing?

The simpliest way (and seems to be the most stable way as well) for me using HD source video... is to use Cineform as your codec of choice between the two applications. You can do what ever you want to you video source in an AVID... export it as a Cineform File format (...must be a Cinefrom HD Quicktime Movie format...)... Drag and Drop the Cineform

chris.... could you do me a favor... Go to the Bin Settings - Current (in the Settings tab/windows)... change the "Double-click loads object in:" drop down window to... "New Pop-up Monitor" (instead of Source or Record Monitor)... Then, while in the Script bin make sure it is populated with at least 15 diffferent videos sources.
...and the Avid guys here to help transition us to NC9 weren't aware of it, but now are....
Whaaaa.... the original post was made in April and AVID's support personal doesn't know about this problem...? I wonder if they know you also can't do a simple drag and drop of a video's audio clip

So... you actually have 1 raid AND 1 - 1tb Sata HD... I am assuming you keep your video source on the 1tb Sata HD and NOT on your raid... correct? If not, then that could be your problem...
