Start by going through the windows monitor setup and make sure it is just the way you want it and the center monitor of your three is set up as the default. Then launch AVID, create a new user and see if AVID goes naturally to the correct monitors without having to drag windows around. You want the File/Edit/Bin/Clip controls, etc. to be naturally on

This may be a feature AVID chose not to include in the free First edition. The good news for you is First will do well in a teaching environment, just not in PAL. First was designed as a teaching tool. Have you brought footage into First from your PAL clips? How well does First do converting them? Just curious. Good luck with the classes. (more good

do you have the original clips? if so, try to re-transccode......are you certain the clips had sound?

sorry to bump this....is there a video somewhere that shows the exact process to change the font of a selection by dragging a title template from a bin without also changing the text? Every time I try it here, everything gets changed (font, text, color etc.) and no dragging to the effect editor or the dashboard anywhere does the trick....happy to post
