About Roger Shufflebottom

Long-time film editor, editing broadcast docs and series who moved across to Avid in 1992, becoming a trainer soon after and an ACI when the UK ACI programme was rolled out. Never did much tape editing. Wrote courseware for Avid UK. Can still amuse students with my tales of buying 4GB SCSI Avid drives in 1995 for £1,700+tax (GBP) and a client shipping my Quadra 950 and MC1000 to Spain for a gig as hand luggage, paying over £1,000 in cash at Gatwick airport! Left the freelance world in 2009 and now teach the nuts and bolts of video editing in the Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth Unversity, Dorset UK. I seem to be an ISIS adminstrator here, too. Other skills at various levels: FCP7, FCPX, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects and InDesign. Often found inhaling fumes in photographic darkroom. I'm pleased to say that my new book, the Media Composer Companion, is now available: Roger Shufflebottom
