I have the exact same problem with my sony a7 iii. I can background transcode all XAVC-S UHD and HD formats but not AVCHD. I can transcode AVCHD in the app but not in the background, getting the same error message. Any updates? (read more)

Since upgrading to version 2020.8, Avid now crashes when trying to play AMA linked AVCHD files in the source monitor. I would like to downgrade to 2020.6, but that version is not listed in the Download Center. -- Michael (read more)

I'm in the process of testing the work stations for a University and the biggest problem i am running into with the udpate is any attempts to import or link AVCHD is causing Avid to crash completely. From all my research I have come to the conclusion that Avid doesnt support the files from this camera and/or the XAVC-S format.(Correct me if I am wrong) because I have found on the Sony website that the PDZK-MA2_V3.4 says it does support XAVC-S however from reading the other posts and having no luck... Ok, that is a relief! What application would you recommend for viewing/logging the asset (outside Avid)? We're recently playing with AdobeBridge and it works fine with .MTS clips in a regular folder but not on a package volume. Thanks! (read more)
