Upgraded recently to MC5 (PC) and had to reinstall my settings. Everything resent except for the "Scaling" for the timeline. I used to just "Command patlette to Keyboard buttone" but I'm not finding the comand.
As I recall, you could use the "Zoom In/Out" commands but it doesnt work with this new version. Zoom In/Out
effects only the Monitor.
You need Menu to button.
Open the Hamburger Menu at timeline and find More Detail or Less.

That's not necessarily 100% true. It will affect the monitor if you are active on the Monitor when you hit it. and that command is CTRL+L (larger) CTRL+K (smaller)
Zoom In/Out can be done a number of ways on the Timeline. You can use "Focus", or CTRL+M/J + lasso the section, or CTRL+[/] for More/Less Detail.
Sverkalo has it right though, use the Menu to Button command
