I'm working on something now that was shot in part on flipcams. It comes as MP4 files, 720p30. It will come into media composer as AMA, but since it's 30fps and not 29.97, playback is awful and it adds slight time remaps to everything. Is there any way to have it work the other way and conform the video from 30 to 29.97 (basially just ignore the framerate and read it at 29.97)? The audio would need to be slightly adjusted to keep it in sync over very long takes, but it seems like it would be a much better way to do things than trying to make that small of a framerate change to the picture.
I trust orange juice more than I trust most people.
I transcode my FlipHD footage.

We transcoded as well. If its a lot of footage you might lay it to tape as well. We had and entire show that did the OTF's on FlipCam and storing all those quicktimes added up real quick. Not to mention the import for the onlines gave a couple of hiccups on clip length not matching.
We used a free program called MPEG Streamclip for transcoding
