Applying multiple audio effects to a clip

Another newbie question - I have heard that with MC you can apply pan/level adjustments and a single digi effect (I forget the correct term - the effects from the audio suite). If you wish to apply more than one effect do you have to do a mix-down and then apply the additional effect or can you somehow nest audio effects the way you can video effects?

    Thanks,

The design assumption behind Avid is that you will be cutting pictures and exporting your sound to a sound post house for finishing.  As such their audio tools are pretty rudimentary, and in my opinion, a bit of an anachronism in this day and age.

So after the rant, the short answer is, yes, you'll have to mix down.  Alternatively, export the sound to a third party app like Audacity - it's free - or one of the Adobe tools.
