I have transcoded my footage shot native 16:9 1080i to DNX-HD. I exported as a quicktime reference and imported into Sonic. I burned a DVD with beautiful quality, but the picture is squashed. Anyone know where in my settings I am screwing up?
Hi,
If you play the Quicktime reference, does it look ok or squashed?
good luck,Carl

I dont remember and I removed all my current projects to an external drive in order to trouble shoot the errors I am getting. I wont be able to check, but I dont think it was squashed
If the Quicktime reference movie was ok, then that means we don't have to look at your Avid export settings. What settings did you use in DVDit?
I really did not touch any of the settings in Sonic DVD except for the preferences-simulation-aspect ratio-and changed it to 16:9. What should the settings be in avid. I want to make sure I had the correct settings.
What ratio was your original footage (4x3 or 16x9)? What ratio is the image your seeing (4x3 or 16x9) and In what way is it squashed (tall and thin or short and fat)?
the orignal is 16x 9 and the image I am seeing is 16x9 squashed short and fat.
