Hidden Timewarp Recovery Feature Removed in Recent Update? Please Bring It Back
Hi everyone!
I'm editor from South Korea π°π·
I'm writing to ask if anyone else has used this hidden feature in Media Composer after recent updates:
1. I applied a Timewarp (speed effect) to a clip on the timeline.
2. Then I muted that clip.
3. I removed the Timewarp effect while the clip was muted.
4. After unmuting the clip — πͺ the clip automatically returned to its **original length**, matching the source material!
This was incredibly helpful when experimenting with different speeds — and then wanting to “undo” the speed effect and restore the clip **exactly** to its source length *without re-editing manually*.
(version 2021,12.55552)
After the recent update this behavior no longer works.
Now, after removing the speed effect from a muted clip, the clip length stays the same (the short, altered version), and doesn’t snap back to the original duration.+error messge Line:158
I’m not sure if this was ever an intended feature or a “happy bug” — but it was EXTREMELY useful!
I’ve asked around, and almost no one knew about this
Please bring this behavior back (or let us enable it in settings)
If this was removed intentionally, could we request an option to bring it back?
