Avid iNEWS WEB Services und Java 17 License Question

    Hello,
Our customer ZDF has several iNEWS WEB services with Tomacat 10 and Java 17 in operation.
Now ZDF has become aware that Oracle has changed the license policy and that Java 1.8 was the last free license and newer versions incur license costs.
Are such license costs for Java 17 covered by Avid?
Alternatively, is there a free and supported JAVA version for the WEB service?

     best regards
     Holger Kloft

    Hi Lansing,

As per checking with the team iNews Web services now uses OpenJDK and not Oracle.

    Thanks,

    Ajay
