Great news for those using Silicone based Macs - Media Composer 2023.3.1 (Mac Only) and Media Composer 2021.12.9 (Mac | Win) have launched and are available for download. 

2023.3.1 (Mac Only)

Location at Launch: The Media Composer 2023.3.1 release (Mac Only) will be available on your Avid Account, Avid Link and the Download Center. 

2021.12.9 (Mac | Win) 

Location at Launch: The Media Composer 2021.12.9 release (Mac | Win) are available on the Download Center Only. Support Plan Status: The ability to launch these versions is dependent on the active status of your Upgrade & Support Plan on the date this software version was released.

Fixes and Improvements - there are several fixes for the 2023.3.1 (Mac) and at least double that for 2021.12.9 (Mac | Win), so please check the ReadMe docs using the links above. 

Important Notes:

1. Any user who was having stability issues with Media Composer and Apple Silicon based Macs as a standalone system with no other product attached will benefit from these updates. 

2. For anyone working Avid, AJA, Blackmagic Design on Apple Silicon Based Mac's who is still experiencing issues after upgrading, know that we are all working closely to address issues and further improve performance. 

3. Please note that IF you are seeing issues, we need a case created on the support portal and the following info including your System ID: 

MC version 

OS Version 

Project and Format Frame rate 

Media codec 

Video quality 

Video media cache size 

File cache enabled or disabled? 

SRT/NDI enabled or disabled? 

Media with AAF project and settings would be very helpful as well.

Thanks Marianna - will try 23.3.1 now.

Previously you'd mentioned you wanted me to try BM Driver 12.3 with the last 22.12.4 release -- has this changed or would you like me to still use 12.3?

40 seconds into playback and same glitch occurs -- i'm on the support portal but it doesnt allow me to select 2023.3.1 from the dropdown.

Happy to try any and all potential fixes avid might suggest.
