Hello, I just moved a projekt from 8.x MacOS to PC 2020.12. Exerything went smoothly except for old stock shots (ca. 2012) that cause the system to crash when they are opened. Or linked. They were already in the Avid Media files folders in MXF 185x and now show up as unspported format in the Bins.They were created by the ARRI Camera or exporter.

they open fine in Resolve, and even copying Audio and Video into a new MXF file unsing ffmpeg works immediately.

But is there any way to just open them? They worked in the 8.5 Mac version. Am I missing some sort of plug in?

Does the format/frame rate of the project you are using on PC match the format/frame rate of the project they were created in?

If these are mxf files that were in the Avid MediaFiles>MXF>1 (or whatever number) folder on a Mac system, you should just be able to copy them into the same place on the PC system. When you open Media Composer, use the Media Tool to view the master clips, and then drag them into a bin.

You shouldn't have to link/import anything.
