    File recovery

Does anyone know of a reliable way to recover files from a formatted drive? My media drive was accidently formatted.

    Re: File recovery

    almost any recovery software.

I've been using "Recover My Files", couldn't say if others are better or worse.

Wouldn't be suprised if there were free programms for that out there too.

Depends how it was formatted. There are basic lite formats and secure eraser formats.

And the drives mustn't be used until you've recovered the contents.

Absolutely. In windows, users should always select "Quick Format" except for security.
Slow format had advantages a long time ago, was so the OS could log bad sectors on the drive.
I guess drives got better, since this procedure has fallen out of fashion, is dangerous in our here scenario.
