Today February 9th, 2021 @12:00 pm EDT Avid launched Media Composer 2021.2.
Location at Launch: The new Media Composer 2021.2 is available in your My Avid Master Account, through the Avid Link application itself, and from the Download Center.
Status of Support Plan: The ability to launch this Media Composer 2021.2 software is dependent on the status of a customer’s Upgrade and Support Plan on the date this software version is released. Media Composer 2021.2 will be released on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021.
Media Composer Notes:
MCDEV-11537. If you intend to use full-frame stereoscopic with an Avid Artist DNxIQ, you may want to remain with Media Composer v2018.12.x until the issues with Stereoscopic support are resolved in a future version.
What’s Fixed in 2021.2: The following has been fixed.
Photoshop PSD files are not supported for AMA linking if QuickTime is not installed. Some fonts, by their design, are available only in Bold. On the Mac system, it can happen that selecting a font does not produce any visual changes. Try selecting “Bold.” If you launch a project and receive an “Enable 3rd Party Emulation” warning, even if you select Enable in the warning dialog, you should also perform the following: Select File > Settings and click the Project tab. Click General Settings and select “Enable Bin Sharing on 3rd party storage emulating Avid NEXIS/ISIS.
ReadMe: The new ReadMe will be uploaded to the Knowledge Base Media Composer 2021 Documentation page at launch.
"There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who only consider the price are this man's lawful prey." - John Ruskin (1819-1900)

Sorry about that. Thanks for posting. Should be fixed now.
If found MC 2020.12 to be rather unstable, for people that updated: is this version a more comfortable experience?
TaT: Adjust Pan/Volume IN-OUT still doesn't work...
Yep, can reproduce this. Panning works, gain adjustment does not.
Catastrophic bug IMHO. Any info on the state of this?
When you say the gain doesn't work - you mean that it doesn't add keyframes to the audio? I've never used this before and what I'm seeing is that the gain changes for the entire clip touched by the In/Out range...

OTTIMA VERSIONE
No, I mean it doesn't adjust clip gain.
See video above or this one I made showing the error: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vuwrghhqp0aqlmh/MC20201-2_Adjust_Volume_InOut.mp4?dl=0
I can't reproduce this on macOS 11.2.1. Adjusting Gain I/O works correctly.
Is this a Windows-only issue?
I'm in the middle of the project on Mac so I can't evaluate this but I found this nasty bug after installing brand new version on my Windows machine... and MC 2020.12 Windows had it too!

Seems to work for me (I'm using a new project with new user settings (for other reasons) but perhaps that's related).
BTW - I miss your Avid Screencast tutorials - looks like the site has gone down (www.avidscreencast.com) but I see you also shared them on YouTube - it's been 10 years. Hope your new job worked out, cheers.

The same here! I already created a new user setting. For me this is an absolute showstopper.Avid: do we have to wait for another two months for the version 2021.4 until this bug is fixed? So again, I have to downgrade to version 2020.10.In December, together with other users, I posted in this newsgroup, that I could not change audio levels between in- and out-pont:https://community.avid.com/forums/t/200887.aspxMarianna opened a case for me: Case # 04084888. One week later, I received the following message from Avid:Hello Klaus,
Thank you for acknowledging the information. Well it's best to close this ticket since the bug is being handled already by our developing team and yes it can be check on the next release notes. But it doesn't mean it should be expected.

bump +1
Same here - Adjust Pan/Volume IN-OUT doesn't work!I tested version 2021.2 on a freshly installed Windows.Had to go back to version 2020.9 because 2020.10 had its own big issues.
Looking foward to change.
Greetings
