    Re: release date MC 2020

Like you I just purchased new Macbook Pro with Catalina. And works without probems in MC 2020.2.beta. There is no reasons to switch to FCPX in that situation!

    lashone:

Yes indeed, this is very frustrating.  I just purchased my new Macbook Pro ver 10.15.4 Catalina 16inch 2.4 GHz 8 Core i9 w/ 64 GB mem and can't use Avid.  I am using FCPX just to get work done.   I wish Avid would take into consideration companies like Apple who use their products and vice versa.  This is the reason why I use two different NLE  including Divinci which makes it 3 because of the companies not working closely together with their updates.

    Noël van Rens:

    Dear Marianna,

Can you please respond to my question about dongle compatibility?

Is there a dongle update to validate the 2020.2 version?

If the update is to be released april 30th, my trial period will be over

and I would have a slight problem...

    Beste regards,

    Noël

    Noel

Looks like it will go live 4/23/2020 - and yes there will be a dongle updater.avd component for those on perptual still using a dongle.  Email me off forum and include your system ID and MT Avid so I can cgheck it to make sure you are ok before the launch.

Put the note above in the email so I remember - 2500 emails a day now and my brain is mush!

Dont know why you arent using the public beta as it just was updated and should be along the lines of the final coming next week.  We are doing all we can development wise to get this out but with each dot release of catalina a new constraint comes up and we have to tweak.  There are so many workflows that need to be tested and we HAVE to ensure that what we release works across them all...........

Marianna, I thought it was pushed to 4/30? Are we still on for the 23rd then?

    Marianna,

The most recent beta I see in the download center is still 2020.2 BETA3 from February 6th. Is there a newer version available elsewhere?

    Thanks!

    Thank you, Marianna. Got it.

Does this version come with documentation regarding file limitations and OS requirements? Couldn't see anything on the Knowledge Base.

    Re: release date MC 2020

Something seems wonky in stereo mix 1-2 output mode in v2020.4 Beta on OS 10.14.6.

I only hear audio from the left channel, even when both channels of audio have visible levels on the Audio Mixer. The Audio Tool and Timeline Audio Meters only show the left channel's levels.

Tried a new user setting and new project but got the same result.

The same project on OS 10.15.4 plays back correctly, so this issue could be limited to Mojave.

This version more buggy than MC2020.2.

Baselight does not work in 10 bit.

Does not start up with XDCAM plugins.

And does not work solo tracks. At all!!! I can't soloing any track.

Thanks - just note that peter from Filmlight and I tried to reproduce the 8 bit 10 bit issue and both of us could not using 2020.x - no issues.   So lets wait until next week for 2020.4 final and take it from there.

Go back to 2020.2 but I am going to ask keith to pop on.  Keith is beta man.
