Burn-in for timeline clip notes not displaying

I am trying to add my timeline clip notes to the timecode burn-in effect. It works fine for timecode and filenames, where I just select "current track" and it automatically burns in the information for the track that is currently visible. However when I do this with Timeline Clip Text, and select "current track", it doesn't display anything. I have to select the track with the clips on to see anything, but this is very impractical since I have multiple tracks containing clips with notes. Surely the 'current track' option on the burn-in effect should display all my clip notes? Or am I missing something?

    I'm using MC 2019.11
