    mulitcam causing MC to crash

Im on 2019.9 and when I started using mulitcam MC started crashing on me. Is there a known bug with multicam? I am ok with updating to the newest version but would like to know if this is fixed before I do.

Re: mulitcam causing MC to crash

I use multi-cam (3 cams) on every project.  All releases through 2019.11 have worked fine.  The only problem I've noticed is slowness and stuttering possibly because my files are sometimes on an external drive connected via USB.  But, overall, multi-cam is fine with no crashes.  I'm no computer expert but to little RAM might be a factor.

It would help to know more about the system you're working on.  Which version of Media Composer are you running?  Which specific OS? What processor? What video card? How much RAM? Where is your media stored?

If you edit your user profile, you can add this information so you don't have to type it all the time.  (Look at the bottom of this post for an example.)

What is your project format/frame rate, and what is your footage format/frame rate? Is your media imported, linked, or linked & transcoded? If it's imported or transcoded, what resolution?

We have possibly the same problem. We use 3-7 cameras with creating group clip from sequence with multiples shots from each of cameras on every track. Sources are AMA linked Sony XDCAM HD 50i PAL mxf 50 mbit or consolidated ones. If editor uses toggle source/record in timeline with mcam source and /or waveform is showed on (and he understand that it was wrong action) - avid MC slows down and through some minutes - freezes and crashes, otherwise editor relaunches MC to fix this speed issue .

In settings, give Media Cache/video more RAM.  That helps for me.
